Defining a boutique retail experience for a skincare company

Optimize Skincare is a boutique line that aims to deliver excellence by making skincare accessible and transparent for people of all skin types.

In this role, I worked on digital design, brand identity, product photography, and copywriting.

Team: Chemist, Estheticians, and Developer
Role: Communications Designer
Contents: Packaging Design, Product Pages, Web Banners, Social Media, Exhibit Design, Product Catalog Deck.

Packaging Design

For packaging and stationary, I designed labels for over 50–namely jars, bottles, air pumps, and stand-up pouches.
I also created brochures, business cards, posters, and banners.

Product Pages

I worked on WordPress to build out the product pages for seasonal products. These pages were detailed and required exclusive product and lifestyle photography. I also collaborated with models to shoot the products.

Hero Banners

I worked on rotating hero banners to promote different seasonal products as well as celebratory events.

#Deliveringexcellence

We all know the importance of social media in the modern marketplace. Giving the business a social presence helped not only gain traction but gauge interest from our target users. I curated the experience by creating a composite of graphics and supportive captions. The social content aimed to inform, educate, and inspire.

Exhibit Design

To represent our brand at the Skin Inc Face & Body Northern California, I created our exhibit’s banners as well as planned and managed the setup for the booth.

 

Digital Product Catalog

For accessibility, I designed a full, 87-page digital catalog, showcasing over 50 products for clients to discover and learn about.

Outcome & Key Takeaways

 

• Established a new brand identity.
• The business gained approximately 100 clients within 6 months.
• Generated more followers on social networks, Facebook and Instagram.

• Having this great opportunity to design for a skincare line gave me the freedom to manage and establish guidelines from the beginning. I was in charge of being the lead creative on this small team of 4.

• This opportunity also allowed me to refine my visual design skills as well as practice designing for print media.
